As we reflect on the first three months of 2020, we were excited to participate in a wonderful Bridal Extravaganza in January. We met so many brides and grooms and look forward to imparting to them God's design of marriage. Two days after the bridal show, we were off to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We enjoyed a much needed break and time together in Carefree, Arizona. We were adventurous and rock climbed and took a hot air balloon ride!! We feel blessed and grateful to of  had this time together. We enjoyed a few of our pre-marriage prep couples at the Sweetheart Banquet for Valentine's. Shortly thereafter, Sissy had foot surgery and is recovering well as we send out this newsletter. And then..."Corona Virus" reared its ugly head! And just like that...life changed for ALL!

Yes, ministry at this point has changed as we all once knew it; however, we see it as a beautiful opportunity for God's children to SHINE! Want to know what we mean by that, please read the article below. We are looking forward to our second quarter and cannot wait to see what God has planned!

2020 kicked off with a BANG for sure! We know there are many who are struggling right now due to the "CV (Corona Virus)." We choose to refer to "CV" as "Christ's Victory." Why? Simple, we know that there is absolutely NOTHING that God is surprised by and we know how the story ENDS!! It is "Christ's Victory!"

We are not sticking our heads in the sand as if there is nothing to challenge our faith at this time. Quite the contrary...THIS is where the "rubber meets the road." THIS is where we CHOOSE to EXERCISE our FAITH over any fear! Of course our hearts hurt for those suffering from this virus and for the tremendous separation from loved ones that many are experiencing, especially the elderly. We pray for the many who are extremely anxious about their financial future and quite frankly for their lives in general. For those who believe and know this world is not their home, we must not let the challenges of THIS keep our eyes from looking up from where our help comes! 

THIS is a CHANCE for the disciples of Christ to shine. THIS is a CHANCE for our relationship with God to grow deeper. THIS is our CHANCE to be the hands and feet of Jesus, EVEN IF, we are quarantined. We still can stay connected through so many other avenues. THIS is where technology can be used for good! You see, God IS in control and He has provided a way for Him to receive Glory! Bottom line...Jesus is ALIVE and so are we! Children of God are out and about in many ways sharing the LOVE of Christ. 

As children of God, we do not need to live in fear. There is a difference of fear entering our thought processes and us refusing to allow if permanent residence versus fear entering our thought processes and us REFUSING to allow it to control us. Josh Baldwin sings "Stand in Your Love." Listen to the words of this chorus and know that fear doesn't stand a chance when it meets the love of the Father!

We want to encourage you to CHOOSE to see Christ's Victory through this unknown period in our lives! Not one bit of this virus changes the Gospel. It simply gives the Gospel (Good News) to bring more hope to the hopeless!

Here are a few suggestions to do while we all wait it out:

 

As we mentioned in our last newsletter, we have partnered with The Freedom Center Church to help offer our pre-marriage prep couples more opportunities to continue to invest in their relationships. However, as we all know, most gatherings have come to a halt for a period of time.

This only delays your opportunities. It certainly does not cancel them! We are excited about a great program that will be kicking off as soon as we all have a green light. This program is called "2B1 Couples Encouraging the Courageous." If you are a couple that has gone through either BootCamp and/or SYMBIS with us, you are eligible to participate in this wonderful program in which you will be supported, encouraged and loved for an eight-week journey by an ENCOURAGING couple. This is a couple who has weathered many storms in their own relationships and are still going strong. They have trained and are ready to pour love and encouragement into YOU!

We still have creative and VERY affordable, if not completely FREE, "DATE NIGHTS!" Let's be honest, DATE NIGHTS can get expensive and a challenge to plan. What if you let us provide YOU the opportunity to enjoy your spouse and all you have to do is show up? Oh and by the way, let us take care of your kids while you enjoy your DATE NIGHT! Our goal is to help you have a STRESS FREE DATE NIGHT and ENJOY your time together!

Bottom line...the partnering of Pitcher Ministries and The Freedom Center Church is all about YOU and YOUR MARRIAGES! We want you to LOVE your relationships and have FUN! Give us a try and we will do our best to not disappoint!
